Electronic Workshop

The nature and complexity of the experiments carried out in ICFO’s laboratories call for high-performance electronic and optoelectronic technologies.

The Electronics workshop is a support facility that aims to assist in the identification of commercial solutions and to adapt acquired components to laboratory requirements. Often commercially available components do not meet unique needs, in which case, the experts in the Electronic workshop work closely with researchers to find solutions including the custom design and manufacture of the necessary electronic circuits.

Collaborations

Research Infrastructures
The Eelectronic Workshop forms part of the following research Infrastructure

The services offered by the eWorkshop include

  • Basic electronic Workshop:  custom manufacturing of all kinds of electronic elements such as cables, printed circuit boards or soldering custom devices.
  • Consulting on electronic issues: researchers may seek advice on electronics or instrumentation that arise within an experiment.
  • Electronic design: If there is no electronic device on the market capable of solve the problem that arises, the eWorkshop has the ability to design it and create it.
  • Centralize institutional knowledge of electronics that is generated in experiments.
