ICFO takes part in the 'XX Trobades Científiques de la Mediterrània', in Menorca (Balearic Islands)

November 11, 2004
Each year the Societat Catalana de Física and l’Institut d’Estudis Menorquins organize the 'Trobades Científiques de la Mediterrània' in the city of Mao, in Menorca, Balearic Island, an annual scientific meeting aimed at providing an adequate environment to exchange knowledge and experiences in a given research topic among the scientists who are working in the region.

The XX 'Trobades Científiques' (to be translated for 'Scientific Meetings' or 'Scientific Gatherings'), held from the 26th to 28th of September, have been devoted to Photonics. About a hundred scientists have had the opportunity to discuss about diverse areas of the Photonic Sciences by the different research groups and centers located in the region.

'Photonics: Science and Technology of Light' have been organized by Prof. Ramon Corbalan, from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and Prof. Lluis Torner, director of ICFO-Institut de Ciències Fotòniques, with the support, both of the Catalan administrations, and the universities from the Mediterranean area in Spain.
