UPC faculty members, from the Applied Physics Department, visit ICFO

Boosting research collaborations and setting-out contacts, the main motivations

April 13, 2005

A selected group of faculty members of the Applied Physics Department of the UPC visited ICFO's laboratories this morning. They conduct research in several areas connected to optics, in particular, in electrooptics, optical materials and quantum physics.

The aim of the visit was to set personal contacts and to boost potential collaborations in topics of common interest. The PhD program of the Applied Physics Department of the UPC hosts most of the ICFO students.

The tour started in the Nonlinear Microscopy Lab, headed by Dr. Pablo Loza, followed by Prof. Gonçal Badenes, Nanophotonics group leader, who explained to the visitors the Institute's research interests related to this area and, finally, Prof. Jürgen Eschner guided the visitors through the Quantum Optics Lab.
