Mr. Ivan Amat shaping ultrashort light pulses, front page in the magazine Catalonia Research

Last edition of the regional magazine ‘Catalunya Recerca’ devotes its front page to ICFO’s PhD student Mr Ivan Amat. Mr. Ivan Amat is currently working in the ultrafast imaging and nonlinear microscopy group, under the supervision of Prof. Pablo Loza, at ICFO. His research interests in the biophotonics area can be divided in three main topics: biomedicine, ultrashort pulses and instrumentation.
With the main title “Research, the silent revolution”, the magazine also includes several features related on research carried out in ICFO. One of these features reports on Prof Ignacio Cirac, Managing Director at Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics and Distinguished Invited Professor at ICFO, who has recently been recipient of the ‘Prince of Asturias Award’. Another feature is devoted to Mr. Zhiyong Xu, a student doing his PhD at ICFO, who has received a Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Students working abroad.
‘Catalunya Recerca’ is published by the Department of Education and Universities of the regional government and its main purpose is to disseminate research made in Catalonia.
