Women in Science Lunches

ICFO launches a series of actions aimed at empowering women in science.

April 24, 2018
As an institute that strives for scientific excellence while offering its researchers and personnel the best conditions for working and career advancement, ICFO strongly supports actions that empower women in science. In keeping with this goal, the institute launches a series of “Women in Science Lunches” that aim to increase the visibility of female researchers at the institute, establish a discussion forum on specific topics of interest, and create an informal space for networking.

The events will be held on a monthly basis and will target all women researchers at ICFO, as well as allies. The events will combine speakers from the ICFO community as well as invited lectures from female scientists around the world actively involved in Women in Science actions.

The first of these events will be held on May 2nd from 12.30-14:30 in the Blue Lecture room with a scientific seminar given by Dr. Ana Asenjo, postdoctoral researcher in the research group led by ICREA Prof at ICFO Darrick Chang. The seminar will be followed by a light lunch in situ and topical discussion on career progression for women in science.
