Three visiting scientists, one postdoctoral researcher, five PhD students, three visiting PhD students, one research engineer, and four students have joined ICFO during the month of September.

Three visiting scientists, one postdoctoral researcher, five PhD students, three visiting PhD students, one research engineer, and four students have joined ICFO during the month of September.

Nelson Romano, who obtained a 2016 PhD from National University of La Plata, Argentina, is coming to ICFO to join the SLN Facility led by ICFO Prof. Pablo Loza as a visiting scientist. His position will allow him to work with the facility on a collaboration for the European project PREMIUM.

Izabela Piechocka, who holds a 2011 PhD in Biophysics from Vrije Universiteit, The Netherlands, is coming to ICFO as a visiting scientist at the Single Molecule Biophotonics research group led by ICREA professor at ICFO Maria Garcia-Parajo. At ICFO, she will be working on fibrin samples for STED imaging and analysis.

Latifa Guesmi holds a 2017 PhD in Informations and Communications Technology from the University of Carthage - Higher School of Communication of Tunis, and is now joining the Optoelectronics research group led by ICREA prof. at ICFO Valerio Pruneri as a visiting scientist.

Lorenzo Vistoli, who holds a 2019 PhD in Solid state Physics, Université Paris-Sud, France, is coming to ICFO as a postdoctoral researcher at the Quantum NanoMechanics research group led by ICFO professor Adrian Bachtold. At ICFO he will be working on electron devices and electromechanical devices based on two-dimensional magnets.

Blanca Belsa holds an MSc 2019 from ICFO, and is now joining the Attoscience and Ultrafast Optics research group led by ICREA prof. at ICFO Jens Biegert as a PhD student. Her main tasks will involve time-resolved Imaging of structural transformation of molecular systems.

Rafael Luque, who holds a 2019 MSc in Photonics from the UPC, is coming to ICFO as a PhD student at the Low-Dimensional Quantum Materials research group led by ICFO professor Dmitri Efetov. At ICFO, he will be working on high temperature single photon detection with BSCCO.

Borja Requena, who holds a 2018 MSc in Intelligent Interactive Systems from UPF, is coming to ICFO as a PhD student at the Quantum Optics Theory research group led by ICREA professor at ICFO Maciej Lewenstein. At ICFO he will be working on NOQIA.

Roger Tormo, who holds a 2019 MSc in Nanophysics from Institute Neel, France, is coming to ICFO as a PhD student at the Quantum NanoMechanics research group led by ICFO professor Adrian Bachtold. At ICFO he will be working on nanotube electromechanical resonators.

Cristian Boghiu, who obtained a 2019 MSc in Physics from Universidad de Zaragoza, is coming to ICFO to join the Quantum Information Theory research group led by ICREA Prof. at ICFO Antonio Acin as a PhD student. His position will allow him to work on quantum networks.

Ali Zeineddine, who is pursuing a PhD in the University of Toronto, Canada, is coming to ICFO to join the Ultrafast Optical Dynamics of Solids research group led by ICFO Prof. Simon Wall as a visiting PhD student. His position will allow him to work on optical properties of phase change materials.

Jorge Rojas, a PhD student in Nanotechnology from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education, is coming to ICFO as a visiting PhD student at the Quantum Engineering of Light research group led by ICFO professor Juan Perez. At ICFO he will be working on an experiment to implement an optical coherence tomography scheme.

Amelie Girardeau, who is studying towards a PhD in Microbiology at INRA- AgroParisTech, France, is coming to ICFO to join the SLN Facility led by ICFO Prof. Pablo Loza as a visiting PhD student. Her position will allow her to work on Raman imaging and super resolution imaging of different acid lactic bacteria.

Javier Morgado, who holds a 2016 MSc in Physics of Condensed Matter and Biological Systems from Universidad de Madrid, is coming to ICFO as a research engineer at the SLN Facility led by ICFO professor Pablo Loza. At ICFO he will be working on a prototype for a LSFM based on the use of wavefront coding.

Nick Feldman, who is working towards a Master in Applied Physics at Eindhoven University of Technology, is coming to ICFO as a student at the Molecular Nanophotonics research group led by ICREA professor at ICFO Niek van Hulst. At ICFO he will be working on ultrafast control of strongly coupled molecule-cavity systems.

Sergi Batlle is studying towards an MSc in Physics, University of Luxembourg, and is joining the Ultrafast Optical Dynamics of Solids research group led by ICFO Prof. Simon Wall as a student. His position will allow him to work on V2O3.

David Cervino is studying towards a degree in Engineering at the UPC, and is joining the Optoelectronics research group led by ICREA Prof. at ICFO Valerio Pruneri as a student. His position will allow him to work on ultrathin bio-films with a lens-free interferometric microscope.

Sebastian Haegele, who is working towards an MSc at Aalen University of Applied Sciences, is coming to ICFO as a student at the Optoelectronics research group led by ICREA professor at ICFO Valerio Pruneri.
